A Visit with Rebecca Compe of Lightworks

Walking up to the Visions and Dreams shop on Park Ave in Wilmington, I was immediately impressed by the spacious front porch and peaceful atmosphere.  Inside I was greeted by an effervescent Rebecca Ann Compe.  Rebecca is the individual behind Lightworks.  She provides individuals with Akashic Records readings, Barbara Brennan Healing, and Astrology.

Born in Colorado, Rebecca has lived all over the east and west coast and in between.  If pressed she’ll tell you that she’s a DC girl at heart after spending many years there.  5 years ago Rebecca started her practice in Wilmington, three years after completing  an intensive 4 year degree in Barbara Brennan Healing.  This study focuses on multi-dimensional healing at (delete here) physical, mental, and emotional levels.  Rebecca likes focusing on the holistic healing element of what she does.  She believes that “we are energy as well as matter”, and that while “medical science addresses our matter, her work complements medical treatments by focusing on our energy.”

Rebecca was first drawn to Astrology. After college she trained in Mahi Kari, a form of Japanese energy healing she practiced for 9 years. After receiving a Brennan Treatment from a friend in late 90s she felt a “transformation” and was inspired to go to school to learn more.

Brennan Treatments are especially ideal for combatting stress that can lead to or exacerbate chronic pain or conditions; for people who are facing or have recently had surgery; and for people seeking to optimize their health and prevent physical problems. Her other services help those who need to make changes and want guidance, or who are in the midst of change and want to take their consciousness, health, and perspective to new levels, so they can live more fully.

Rebecca was great about explaining the different elements of her practice.  She explained that Akashic Record Readings, which she trained to do in 2005,  are the records of a person’s soul and provide a highly detailed look at their past, present, and future.  Her Astrological Charts can help you know what to expect in the year ahead, understand your child better, or even let a couple understand their relationship better.  Rebecca sits down with each client and explains their chart in terms of the individual’s potentials, gifts, and challenges. Most sessions with Rebecca are an hour and most clients come back for readings every two months or so.  Healing sessions typically last an hour with individuals returning for a minimum of 3 to 5 sessions over a period of several weeks.

Rebecca wants people to understand that the “new” astrological signs are a myth based on a joke comment at a conference that went viral.  Her practice is not general but specific, professional and confidential.  She feels that she offers “tools for understanding our lives and ourselves better, much like a Meyers Briggs personality test does.” Her healing practice is based in science, not an otherworldly realm. But any visit with her starts with basic information sharing and talking about her clients goals.  She’ll then recommend the best service for the client.  With any Brennan Treatment, Rebecca starts at the feet and works her way up, assessing the individual and their energy flows and blockages.  She’ll then start to untangle the energetic blocks.

If you are under stress or have chronic pain, you need to contact Rebecca and have a consultation.  You might be facing a transition or be in the midst of one, and Rebecca can help you understand the repeating patterns and behaviors in your life.  When you leave a session with Rebecca you will be able to “operate with maximum creativity and confidence.” She wants her clients to feel that she’s helped and that they are moving forward in in their life.

If you are literary minded you can look for Rebecca’s book in the coming year.  It’s a travel memoir that is also a coming of age story based on 10 years of her life when she traveled around the country. It is a literary effort about going from being a follower to being empowered. And it is also the story of Rebecca learning to be open to the assistance of God in her life.

Rebecca works by appointment from 2:30 to 8 p.m. at Visions and Dreams.  You can reach her at 910-632-6906, or 305-343-2896 and at RALightworks @ yahoo.com.  Visions and Dreams is located at 4403 Park Avenue in Wilmington, NC.  Their hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 12-6pm.  For more information contact them at 910-799-1011 or email diane @ visionsanddreamsinc.com
